About the Event

Join local dignitaries, 2023 National American Miss Virginia Zoila Goya, as well as friends, family, associates, and community members of local hero and burn survivor Dominic Walker (affectionately known as Domo) to celebrate his heroism, witness his receiving a Hero's Award from Prince William County, and support his healing journey.

About Dominic (aka Domo)

On July 17, 2023, Woodbridge, Virginia, resident Dominic Walker (now age 31) sustained severe burn injuries on July 17, 2023, when a home in St. Charles, Missouri, occupied by himself, another adult, and two small children (including his now 5-year-old daughter Mariah) exploded from a suspected gas leak. Dominic saved his daughter from the burning home and, in the process, suffered third-degree burns on nearly 50 percent of his body. His healing journey—which includes a medically induced three-week coma, eight surgeries, and several blood transfusions during his three-month hospitalization—will continue well into 2024.

Let's unite to support Domo and his family during this time of recovery.
